About

Hi! I’m Caroline Hulse, an artist based in Lower Hutt, New Zealand.

I like working in different media, my preferred ones being mixed media, watercolours, oils, collage, pastels, and photography. I took lessons in watercolour painting fo a long time from several world class tutors, mostly Jacky Pearson.

I have exhibited and sold works in solo exhibitions, and with Watercolour New Zealand and The Hutt Art Society, in addition to accepting commissioned work.

My style is mostly representational, which I like to call impressionistic realism. Recently, I have been incorporating more elements of abstraction to add a personal touch and interest to my work.

My background is in teaching, and I love to inspire children in their artistic development. I have been running art classes for children for several years, and I am planning to start new classes in 2025. I will have vacancies for children aged 6 to 12 years old.

I would love to hear from anyone who is interested in commenting on or purchasing my work. Some of the pieces I have shown are available for sale.
